Credit Card Shaving

Everyone has ever heard about credit card fraud. Lots of people have faced identity theft for the last years. Credit card companies have been struggling with fraudsters for a long period of time and it seems they are winning the battle. But it is only at the first sight.
I have recently known about a new type of fraudulent actions. Credit Card Deals Shaving. Have you heard about this?
Now fraudsters do not need to steal your credit card and all the personal information. They just try out combinations of numbers until one of the combinations will fit someone’s credit card number. And that’s it! Now they can charge money from your plastic.
I have asked a financial consultant (who is a friend of mine) what can card holders do to protect themselves from credit card shaving. He said the only thing we can do is be very careful and try to keep an eye on all transactions on our credit cards. And if you notice that something is wrong, contact immediately your bank. And that’s all.
Well, it seems to me that cardholders are defenseless against fraudsters. Hope, credit card companies will make something up to protect us.

low APR cards - getting benefits or debts?..

Being an accurate cardholder can give you lots of benefits - for example, you can apply for the credit cards with best rates. Of course, there are many options for any credit - fair, bad and no score plastics. But its obvious that best credit card rates are affordable only for customers with good credit history.

I just recently found out how many pluses these low interest cards have - no annual fee, 0% APR balance transfer, low fixed rate, cash back and rewards programms. And it is even possible to get instant approval when applying for low APR credit card, although, i think, this also works for good score plastics only.

Low APR cards can also be very useful if you're making large purchases and pay them off before the end of the introductory period - thus you'll significantly save on interest.

Anyway, before applying you have to make the right choice in order not to get into debts, or spoil your credt history instead of improving it. That's so simple and obvious, right? But that's one of the most commonmistakes many beginners make. So try to make your own research and find out what you really need and what suits you the best.

Use Your Rewards Credit Card Wisely

Credit cards with reward programs have become increasingly popular for the last two years. But still there are a few people who really know how to benefit from these cards and not to get into debt. Spending as much as possible on your reward credit card is not all you need to do to get benefits.

First of all, you need to make sure that you can earn rewards for your purchases in any place. That means, read the terms and conditions in a credit card application. If the plastic offers you rewards only for purchases made in certain merchants that you rare visit, you will hardly benefit from such a credit card.

What concerns gasoline credit cards, mind, you can benefit not only from fueling your car but from making your daily purchases as well. So, study credit card offers, compare the terms and fees and choose the one that will let you get rewards from making as gasoline, so your usual purchases.

And one more important thing about reward credit cards. Many of them come with very attractive introductory rates, but before to apply for a card make sure that after the introductory period will be over, these low rates will not jump to high. Otherwise, you will get more problems than rewards.

Be Carefu! Bankruptcy Can Lead to Jail....

Applying for a credit card we think mostly of benefits we can get from using the card but not of losses. But life shows that thanks to our irresponsibility and overspending, credit cards can bring us lots of problems and losses. The worst about this is bad credit history and bankruptcy.

But have you ever thought that because of your irresponsibility and bad finance management you can be sent to jail? Well, today the cases of sending people to jail because of bankruptcy are rare as compared to Middle Age, for instance, but still it happens. Just think, in case you failed to pay off your debt, your credit card company is entitled to sue you and the sentence can turn out to be really severe.

You know, it is always better to do your best to prevent bad credit than to recover bankruptcy. And the best way to avoid bankruptcy is to manage your debt. That means to pay all the bills on time and never to exceed the credit limit.

After my past problems with credit cards, I always think before to buy something on my credit cards. Debt is always debt and the less debt you have the better. Don’t you agree?

Just One More Way to Show Off

I came across an interesting article yesterday. The article tells about a new Capital One offer: credit cards with a special design. And it made me think, how often we pay more attention to the design of a thing than to its features.  Just think, why people use credit cards? I always think, we use plastics to make purchases without carrying a bunch of cash, get some additional services, earn some bonuses for spending our money, etc.

But now I see that credit cards have become more than a tool to make your life easier. Now a credit card is a way to show off.

Just imagine, you and your friends compare your credit cards. And you win, because your credit card that doesn’t offer you cash back, free services, or something else, comes with your picture. Well, I can’t understand it…

Manage Your january Credit Card Bills

The holidays went past.  The working routine has begun again.  Besides, the end of the January is coming and many people begin to receive their first bills in this year.

Psychologists say that the end of January is the hardest time of a year for many people. The reason is the bills, especially credit card bills. Looking at the January credit card bills, many realize how much money they spent on Christmas presents. Many find out how the Christmas purchases affected their credit history.  So, what is the way out?

One of the ways to overcome these financial problems is to transfer your balance from your current credit card onto another one that will have lower APR.  All you need to do is to find a credit card with low APR and ask your creditor to transfer your balance onto it. If you manage to get a credit card with lower APR (at least for an introductory period), you will be able to start paying off your debt without overpaying.

Charity Credit Cards

Last time I was speaking about celebrities and charity. I said that some of them took part in charity events only to show off. But I must admit that there are many who really care and participate in charity from the heart. Many do donate huge sums of money to different Relief Funds. And it made me think, what have I ever done? And the answer is nothing! I know it is awful. And now I shame that I blamed celebrities for being insincere. I do nothing myself. But the problem is I can’t afford myself to donate a big sum of money. And to donate a few bucks always seems  me to be useless.

But I have recently heard about special credit cards that are aimed to help different Relief Funds. These cards work as usual credit cards with rewards,  but instead of bonus points or cash back you earn points to donate. The thing is every time you make your usual purchases on the credit card you donate some money to a charity organization. These credit cards don’t oblige you to anything. Just use your credit card in the way you’re used to and you will help other people at the same time. Great isn’t it? Now I am going to find out what issuing companies offer such credit cards and apply for one. I think it is a good idea!
